Plastic Surgery Residency Match

The Plastic Surgery Residency Matching Program (PSMP) was established by the Association of Academic Chairmen of Plastic Surgery to coordinate appointments for Plastic Surgery Residency programs and to relieve the pressure on applicants and program directors resulting from early appointments and uncoordinated appointment dates. This match is for applicants who have or will have completed pre-requisite surgical training by the start of plastic surgery residency.

Sponsorship

The American Council of Academic Plastic Surgeons (ACAPS)sponsors the matching process and is responsible for enforcement of applicable rules. The Matching office does not sponsor or approve any of the participating programs. The function of the Matching Program is strictly limited to processing of the match. Listing or not listing of any program in the directory does not imply any form of approval, disapproval or endorsement. The decision to be listed or not rests solely with each individual Program Director.

About the Match

The Match takes place in May and will be used to process all applicants who want to start their fellowship training in July of the following year. There is $100 non-refundable registration fee that covers registration and matching. To register for the Match, click on "Login/Register" button on the left-hand side menu. Once registered you will gain access to view the Program Directory and make your program selections. Visit the "Steps" page for more information. A Centralized Application Service (CAS) is available for application distribution.
